SliceThePie is a new way of helping talented bands create albums and share the money they make with their investors, bypassing the need for a record label. SliceThePie partners include Samsung, Gibson and Kerrang. They've already funded 21 artists, and I Am Not Lefthanded are in the running to be the next one.
Our Target:
We have 9 months to reach the £15,000 target. We're currently four months in and we've raised £4,500 pounds so far. With your support, we know we can reach our goal.
What do you get?
If you invest just £1, you will get two tracks of the album. For a £5 investment, you get a copy of the album and your name on the sleeve as an investor. For larger investments, we want to give you something more. Have a look to the list on the right to see all the incentives.

£1 - Two tracks from the album
£5 - Download copy of the album, plus your name in the credits
£10 - CD + Download
£25 - I Am Not Lefthanded T-shirt and Socks
£50 - Special Edition Box Set, including bonus acoustic CD
£100 - Signed Box Set + Live DVD + Personal Thank-you letter/video
£250 - We'll come cook you dinner, or bake you 3 different kinds of cake
£500 - We'll write a song for you, or record a cover of your favourite song
£750 - We'll play a private show for you & your friends
£1,000 - You get to sing or play on one of the album tracks, or star in one of our videos
£2,500 - You'll be involved in all decisions regarding song choice, artwork, early mixes, studio visits, merchandise etc.
£10,000 - We'll name you Executive Producer and give you 10% of all royalties, including record sales, publishing rights, soundtrack placements, comic-book adaptations and more for two years from the date of the album launch.

Q: So what can Slice The Pie do for you?
A: We've been given 9 months to raise £15,000 to record a full-length, studio-quality album. It's something of a 'most likely to succeed' award; we were voted in by users of the site, out of the seven thousand or so bands that showcase their music there.
Q: How is this different from you just raising the money by yourselves?
A: By going through slicethepie.com, your investment in us is completely risk free. If we do not reach our target in the required time, all of your money will come right back to you! Also the site has a strong investment community, keen to support bands who are taking this seriously and moving forward, so an investment from you will encourage other people to invest further.
Q: How are you doing so far?
A: In the first six weeks, thanks to the amazing support of early investors, we raised over £1,800. Now we're taking things up a gear and showing our commitment to making this work.
Q: What does investing in you get me?
A: Apart from the awesome feeling of a good job well done? Well, there are many different levels of investment, the most basic two are:
For one pound: you get two tracks from the album, when we record it
For five pounds: you get a free digital copy of the album.
We've come up with many more exciting rewards for our keenest supporters, we'll be revealing the full list next few weeks.
Q: That sounds like pre-ordering. Doesn't the word investment imply that I can make money?
A: Yes. For each one pound invested, you get a share in the album. If we sell 10,000 copies, you get your full investment back. If we sell more than that you start making money - for every pound you invest you will make back 10p on every 1000 albums sold and 10p for every 10,000 singles sold. It may not sound like a lot, but if we do well it will start to add up quite quickly. This will be a fully produced, professionally recorded album, with a proper launch and promotional campaign to support it, so we'll be working hard to make sure you make a profit of some kind!
Q: How do I know you aren't going to take the £15,000 and head to Hawaii with it?

Q: And what will you be doing to promote this?
A: To show you how committed we are to this, we're going to be releasing a new thing every week through our website. Every Sunday we're going to be putting up a new live track, video, acoustic song, cover version or something else special for you. We're absolutely committed to this, so we're going for it full steam ahead.
Q: Help! I'm an American, there seems to be some sort of problem with this for me!
A: Sadly, your government views the investment side of SliceThePie as a form of gambling - which we suppose it is, much in the same way as investing in the stock market is gambling!
